As time ascends, seasons descend and life transcends, it is during these liminal times we most benefit from coming together in prayer.
You are invited to join us in co-creating a Community Altar in the Chumash Valley of Ojai, California for Dia de Los Muertos.
We will gather upon a retreat hilltop home overlooking the Topa Topa mountains for a day of workshops, platicas (conversations), ceremonial offerings, a mercadito and traditional dinner in honor of our Ancestors.
In present day Mexico, we are promised with the season of Muertos, with the presence of a dedicated altar in our home and
the flower petals of Cempaxochitl guiding the way as we come together around a table of ancestral foods in
greeting our ancestors to be with us once again.
✢
We will be communing with our relationship to Death while we celebrate our ancestral remembrances,
sitting at the feet of the altar in reverence to all of our beloved, deceased ones.
We invite you to bring offerings to and photographs of your ancestors
to contribute to the Community Altar, as we welcome them to be with us through a traditional Nahua ritual.
